About the role:
The Therapeutic Case Manager provides specialist case work and therapeutic intervention for children and young people, their families, carers, within the permanency support program using contemporary practices. Within this role, you will work closely with the children and young people, carers and birth families to provide high quality and effective case management services within a therapeutic and trauma informed model.

Essential Criteria:
  • A minimum of a Diploma in relevant discipline such as Social Work, Community Services, Psychology or Family Therapy
  • Extensive experience working with and providing quality assessment and case management services to at risk families or children/young people in out-of-home care and carers
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of contemporary case management practice Demonstrated conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • High level oral and written communication skills, ability to prepare reports, and correspondence to a high standard for a range of audiences
  • Proficiency in using computer applications including Microsoft office, client/data management systems and a willingness to learn new programs
  • Demonstrated experience in trauma informed practice
  • Knowledge of the Child Protection legislation that underpins the work of a case manager in Out of Home Care including knowledge of the Office of the Children’s Guardian NSW Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care and the Children & Young Person (Care and Protection Act) 1998
  • Demonstrated experience working with CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait clients
  • Commitment to working within a diverse and inclusive environment
  • WWCC/ Police Check or drivers licence
