The Role

As the Team Leader, you will oversee a team of 7 who deliver services across three programs:

  • Counselling: Provide therapeutic support for families, youth, and individuals, addressing issues like family violence, relationship transitions, and mental health.
  • Children and Parenting: Deliver preventative, early intervention programs that build parenting capacity and improve developmental outcomes for children.
  • Youth Enhanced Services (YES): Engage at-risk youth in accessing tailored mental health support to foster recovery and long-term wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include managing service delivery, ensuring evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally relevant practices, mentoring and supervising a high-performing team to achieve program objectives, overseeing data integrity, program reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, and strengthening relationships with government and community-based organisations

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Relevant Degree or Diploma with substantial experience.  Post Graduate qualification desirable.  
  • Experience:  Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in social services, counselling, or related fields and demonstrated ability to lead culturally diverse teams, particularly in Indigenous communities.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and case note-writing abilities.
  • Unlimited work rights in Australia.
  • Valid NT Driver’s Licence
  • Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance).
  • Satisfactory criminal history check (including International Criminal History Check, if applicable).
  • Compliance with NT Chief Health Officer directions for mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations.
