The Role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will apply evidence-based practices to assess, develop, and implement tailored interventions that support children with additional needs and their families. Working within a transdisciplinary model, you will ensure therapy strategies are integrated across different settings to promote the child’s overall development. Your role will involve conducting timely assessments, maintaining accurate documentation, and delivering early intervention services that make a lasting impact.
You will collaborate closely with families, educators, and other key stakeholders to create a supportive environment for each child’s progress. This includes providing practical strategies that can be implemented across various settings, managing a caseload that meets billable hour targets, and upholding family-centred practices. You will also participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and represent the organisation in relevant external forums.
This role requires a commitment to ethical and high-quality service delivery, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and child safety standards. You will maintain professional integrity, stay informed about industry research and trends, and contribute to continuous improvement in Occupational Therapy practices. Additionally, you may be involved in supporting new team members and students, fostering a culture of collaboration and learning.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary degree in Speech Pathology or relevant field
- General AHPRA Registration
- Current Driver’s Licence and access to own car
- NDIS Worker Check, WWCC, and National Police Check
- Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
