The Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager of Casework to join their Permanency Support Program (PSP) team in Western Sydney. This role is responsible for ensuring the best possible outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people placed in PSP by providing strong leadership and operational management to a team of professional caseworkers and wraparound services.
Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Leading and managing a team of caseworkers, ensuring efficient caseload allocation and management.
  • Overseeing compliance with legal and staff management frameworks.
  • Chairing referral meetings and attending case conferences and placement disruption meetings.
  • Conducting risk assessments related to staff, children, and carers.
  • Providing regular professional supervision and performance appraisals for caseworkers.
  • Coordinating carer recruitment campaigns, assessment, and training.
  • Managing dispute resolution processes as required.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including Community Services and other partner organisations.

Essential Criteria:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community services, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a related field (or five years without a degree).
  • Demonstrated experience in case management and supervising a team.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities, families, and children.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and provide leadership in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Valid NSW Driver’s License (minimum P2).
  • Willingness to undergo a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
