About the Role:

The Clinical Team Leader plays a vital role in leading the delivery of services for young people and their families, ensuring they are effective, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate. They oversee clinical reviews, manage referrals, and address service demands, stepping in to provide direct clinical care during high-demand periods. Accurate record-keeping and compliance with data collection standards are critical responsibilities of the role, as is collaborating with other leaders to develop and refine clinical governance documents and processes. Additionally, the Clinical Team Leader facilitates care coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure holistic and effective support for clients.

Another key aspect of the role is staff supervision and professional development. The Clinical Team Leader ensures team members are properly oriented, supervised, and supported through debriefing, training, and ongoing development opportunities. They also contribute to fostering growth by supervising tertiary students where applicable. Furthermore, the role involves identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting and policy requirements, and maintaining alignment with legislative and organisational standards to uphold excellence in service delivery.

Essential Criteria:
  • Tertiary level qualifications in an allied health discipline including Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
  • Currently registered, with AHPRA / AASW as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse or other allied health professional.
  • Experience in leading a team in a complex clinical triage, assessment and referral environment.
  • Advanced clinical skills in managing young people at risk through delivery of psychosocial interventions using evidence-based approaches.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people and outstanding stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQSB+ young people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
