An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and experienced Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join a dynamic team. The Role
The Work Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. The role involves identifying and mitigating risks, conducting regular safety inspections, managing incidents and injuries, and leading a team dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Create and maintain health and safety frameworks, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry best practices.
  • Hazards and Risks Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards and risks.
  • Safety Inspections and Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure operational compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Incident Management: Manage and investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Injury Management and Prevention: Implement injury management and return-to-work programs, liaise with stakeholders, and monitor trends.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead the WHS team, conduct safety training, and foster a safety-conscious culture.
  • Health Monitoring and Disease Control: Stay updated on health directives and lead disease control efforts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support WHS processes and systems.
Essential Criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work, Health and Safety, Human Resources, or equivalent.
  • Strong management, leadership, consulting, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven experience in coordinating WHS and injury management programs, particularly in the Disability, Aged Care, or Healthcare sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of WHS best practices and human resource organizational policies.
  • Strategic business understanding and strong relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to interact at an executive/strategic level.
  • On-site attendance at least 3 days per week to fulfill WHS responsibilities and support the team.
