As a Speech Pathologist within our client's organization, you will play a pivotal role in providing advanced support services to individuals funded under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Your responsibilities encompass a wide array of specialized activities, including conducting screenings, assessing participant conditions, and designing personalized therapy plans to enhance speech skills. Operating within the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework, you will engage with children, young people, and adults facing challenges such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and physical disabilities, tailoring your services to meet their unique needs.
In this role, participant-focused practices are at the core of your responsibilities. You will consistently prioritize and promote the voices, choices, and rights of participants, adhering to the highest ethical standards. Your duties extend beyond clinical expertise, encompassing vigilant reporting on participant feedback, changes in circumstances, and any concerns related to health, safety, or discrimination. Operating within the framework of NDIS and government regulations, you will contribute to a supportive and inclusive environment, ensuring the participant remains at the centre of all interventions.
Effective communication is paramount in your interactions, requiring clarity, adaptability to diverse needs, and a commitment to avoiding jargon. Building trusted relationships with participants and their support networks is crucial. Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology or relevant discipline
- SPA Registration
- Certified Practicing Speech Pathology (CPSP) status
- NDIS Workers Screening Check/Orientation Modules, Police Check, WWCC
- Ability to register for Medicare Provider number
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Driving License
