The role:
As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you play a pivotal role in guiding injured individuals back to meaningful work through tailored rehabilitation strategies. Your responsibilities include assessing occupational rehabilitation needs, developing structured Return to Work (RTW) plans, and implementing workplace-based interventions. You will actively engage with injured workers, employers, medical professionals, and insurers to facilitate positive outcomes, ensuring a collaborative approach to rehabilitation. Your expertise in functional capacity, workplace assessments, and vocational evaluations will enable you to identify suitable employment pathways and support injured workers in regaining their independence.
You will conduct workplace visits to assess job demands, recommend modifications, and provide education on injury management and prevention. Your role involves attending medical appointments, liaising with treating practitioners, and ensuring RTW plans align with medical recommendations. Additionally, you will use counselling techniques and conflict resolution strategies to address workplace barriers, promoting a smooth transition for injured workers. Your ability to maintain comprehensive communication with stakeholders, document progress accurately, and adhere to service level agreements ensures the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.
Beyond client-focused duties, you will contribute to business development and professional growth by promoting rehabilitation services, engaging in mentoring, and participating in ongoing training. Your role requires adherence to healthcare regulations, best practices, and quality standards to deliver exceptional rehabilitation outcomes. By combining clinical expertise with strategic intervention, you will make a meaningful impact in the lives of injured workers, helping them achieve sustainable recovery and return to work.
Essential Criteria- Minimum Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology
- Registration with AHPRA or ESSA
- Police Check
- WWCC
- NDIS Working Screening Check and Orientational Modules
