Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate NDIS Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP) to join their team. The position is based within a 45-minute radius of the clinician's residence, ensuring convenience for the successful candidate. The Role:

The NDIS Psychologist/BSP will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating psychological services tailored to NDIS participants, helping them achieve their goals. The role involves supporting participants' inclusion and participation within their communities, working collaboratively with key stakeholders, and ensuring services are delivered within the parameters of available NDIS funding. The psychologist will also be responsible for maintaining high professional and ethical standards, fulfilling administrative duties, and supervising assistants, volunteers, and students as required. Compliance with duty of care and NDIS guidelines is essential.

Participant Cases:

  • Emotion Regulation: Managing participants with potential aggressive behavior.
  • Socialization: Assisting participants in developing social skills.
  • Treatment Focus: Expertise in working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, trauma, physical disabilities, strokes, and mental health issues.
  • Communication and Skills Development: Supporting participants in enhancing communication and other essential life skills.
  • Work Environment: Flexibility to work in diverse settings, including schools, nursing homes, private homes, and disability housing, with frequent community engagement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications & Experience: General registration as a Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Technical Competencies:
    • Proficient in conducting comprehensive behaviour assessments.
    • Experienced in designing, implementing, and evaluating behaviour support plans.
    • Knowledgeable about The Positive Behaviour Support Capability framework and restrictive practice regulations.
    • Understanding the impact of disability on families.
    • Skilled in positive behavioural interventions and a range of psychological assessment tools.
    • Competent in a variety of intervention strategies, including social integration and mental health management.
  • Behavioural Competencies:
    • Commitment to person-centred approaches and inclusion of people with disabilities.
    • Strong collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Ability to work independently with excellent communication skills.
    • Dedication to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Licenses & Accreditations:
    • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
    • Working with Children’s Check.
    • Current Driver’s License.
