The role:
As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating tailored therapy services for a diverse caseload of children, including those who are NDIS participants. Your work will focus on building upon the strengths, needs, and priorities of each child and their family. This involves conducting comprehensive assessments using standardized outcome measures and designing engaging, evidence-based treatment plans that support developmental milestones and enhance participation in everyday activities.
In your role, you will collaborate closely with children and their families to set achievable short-term and long-term goals, ensuring that therapy is both meaningful and impactful. You will foster a supportive environment that promotes children’s active participation in home, school, and community settings. Beyond direct service delivery, your role will emphasize building positive relationships with families, schools, and local community groups to promote an integrated approach to care.
You will provide therapy services that align with the financial frameworks of funding sources such as the NDIS, ensuring cost-effective yet high-quality interventions. Additionally, you will collaborate with other professionals to deliver holistic support tailored to each child’s needs. Maintaining professional growth through ongoing training and development opportunities is essential, along with fulfilling key administrative duties like accurate record-keeping and adhering to the organisation’s standards and Code of Practice.
Essential Criteria- Minimum Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant discipline
- Full AHPRA registration
- Experience supporting paediatric clients availing of NDIS services
- Experience as a Senior Occupational Therapist is desirable but not essential. If you are ready to take the step into leadership, this position is for you
