The role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will manage your caseload proactively and autonomously, ensuring effective and timely communication with clients and relevant stakeholders. Your core responsibilities include conducting comprehensive client assessments to determine their unique needs, completing functional assessments for NDIS submissions, and prescribing suitable assistive technologies such as wheelchairs, hoists, and other daily living aids. Additionally, you'll oversee the completion of detailed postural and seating evaluations, assist with funding applications, and provide clients with valuable advice on equipment and lifestyle modifications to enhance their independence.

Collaboration is key, as you will work within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and nurses, as well as liaising with external support members like psychologists and GPs to achieve the best outcomes for clients. Your role requires you to maintain meticulous records, adhere to documentation protocols, and assist with auditing needs to meet service standards effectively.

You will uphold workplace health and safety practices, promptly addressing any risks or incidents. Following established policies and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems will be essential. Your dedication to quality and proactive problem-solving will ensure the delivery of exceptional care and support to clients.

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant discipline
  • Full AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience as a Senior Occupational Therapist is desirable but not essential. If you are ready to take the step into leadership, this position is for you
  • Experience with spinal injuries desirable but not essential
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check and Orientation Modules

  • Driving License
